Marissa Farrell

Marissa has been studying the art of movement through dance, martial arts, fitness, and yoga, since she was a child. After more than 20 years experience teaching these modalities in and around Boston, specifically teaching Yoga at Laughing Dog for 20 years, she has synthesized her work into what she calls, The InHara System.

Beginning in 2004, Marissa began attending childbirth as a certified professional doula to help in any and all ways through support, advocacy, and education.

In 2013 she created The InHara Practice. Workshops followed soon after; providing a system of movement for women to reconnect with the most primal portion of their body, the pelvis. Around town, Marissa is known as “the Vagina Lady”, a title that fits the InHara System well.

Marissa returned to school in 2014 to study massage therapy at The Bancroft School of Massage Therapy and then, following a 10 year dream, went on to study The Arvigo Technique of Mayan Abdominal Therapy under the watchful eye of the program creator, Rosita Arvigo.

Marissa is a wife, mother of 2, a step-mom, and is found happiest hiking, cooking, and chasing her dog in the woods.

“I joined Marissa’s class after practicing yoga for two years. I was blown away by her knowledge of yoga, her strong understanding of anatomy and her application of choreography in planning her classes. In the 8.5 years I have been with Marissa, she has never taught the same class twice. Each month she teaches to a theme and each week the class becomes progressively more challenging as you grow in the practice. After four weeks, the focus shifts. But in the long picture Marissa also works gradually over months to prepare us.

During my time with Marissa she pursued advanced education in related fields that fed directly into her teaching. She is always growing her knowledge and experience and guides us to do the same.

Marissa provides a wholistic yoga experience that feeds mind, body and spirit. Working with her has been transformative.”

“Marissa joyously embraces the challenges of life with a yogic spirit and strength leavened by a sense of humor and her profound understanding of health and wellness. She provides a solid, strong foundation in every pose, building the fundamentals of strength, balance, flexibility and posture to a place where the young practitioner or seasoned veteran feels capable of greater achievement.”
