Studies show that people with PD benefit from exercise to improve strength, flexibility, mobility, balance, overall fitness and quality of life.
This 4-week yoga series with Jennifer Cooper is specifically designed for those with Parkinson’s, MS and Dystonia. Jennifer teaches a variety of yoga poses, including standing, reclined and balancing poses. She will show a variety of options so students can choose what works for them. Her cues and encouragement, along with props – including chairs, ballet barres, blocks, blankets, bolsters and straps – will allow every participant to practice yoga successfully in a safe and secure way.
The 4-week series is designed to progress as appropriate. Strengthening, stretching, stability and mobility exercises, balancing, crossing the body’s midline, breathing exercises to improve lung capacity, face exercises to combat facial masking, are all part of class.
No yoga experience required to take this series.
“My yoga practice with Jennifer has been wonderful. For someone with Parkinson’s Disease, the challenges have always been both physical and psychological. I’ve not only seen changes in my comfort level and range of motion with this practice but with my confidence, as well.” – Private Client
