SUMMARY:BIG NEWS - Laughing Dog Closed / Stepping Stone Studios Open ~ Thank You for 23 Years
DESCRIPTION:Greetings – below is the letter I wrote to the community announcing our closure after 23 remarkable years at 151-159 Linden St. 2nd Flr\, Wellesley. Please read for full details about out need to close and the opening of Stepping Stone Studios – written in July\, 2025. \nIt is now April\, 2026 and Stepping Stone Studios opened almost 6 months (see details in letter below). Most of the teachers from LDY are now teaching there\, including me. It is a beautiful space\, full of light\, with great classes and fabulous teachers. \nWe would LOVE to have you join us as you continue your journey to great health and well being. \nGo to: https://www.steppingstonewellesley.com/studios  to check out the classes\, teachers\, create an account and sign up for classes. \nThank you so much for commitment and support. \nIn Gratitude and Love\, \nJennifer \n__________________ \nGreetings to the Laughing Dog Yoga Community from Jennifer  \nIt is with much reflection and gratitude\, I am writing to let you know that Laughing Dog Yoga Studio will be closing its doors on September 30\, 2025. \nAs I sit in the studio\, I am filled with a multitude of feelings and memories about the 23 remarkable years we have called 151-159 Linden St. in Wellesley our home. I want to express so much\, yet don’t know where to begin or end. \nI will start by saying my decision\, was made with care\, thought\, guidance and deep trust in what is unfolding and lies ahead. It comes in part because\, with the recent sale of the building where we are located\, the new owners (without telling us) made an agreement with another business (the owner of the business\, which is another yoga studio\, is a personal friend of one of the new owners) to take over and lease our space\, making it impossible to stay\, leaving LDY without a home\, and jeopardizing the livelihood of the LDY teachers (and myself). Our last day is 9/30/25. That said\, I have faith in my heart I can step into a new phase of my life. And as life would have it – when one door closes\, another opens. More on that below after I take a moment to honor everything that Laughing Dog is and has been. \nFor over two decades\, LDY has been my heart and soul. What started as a small studio has grown into something far greater than I ever imagined and so much more than a yoga studio. It has been a sacred space of community\, connection\, healing\, laughter\, compassion\, and shared transformation. \nI realize I am speaking to many who have been with us since we opened in 2002. There are also those who walked through our doors for the first time last week and then there is everyone in between. That said\, the relationships built within these walls\, the classes shared\, the moments of stillness\, tears and joy\, of breathing together as we moved through our practice\, have been the lifeblood of Laughing Dog. I am endlessly grateful for the community we have created and for all the love and dedication you have brought into this space. You have made the studio what it is – warm\, welcoming and full of spirit. \nOwning\, and teaching at\, LDY has been an extraordinary journey and one of the greatest privileges of my life. I have been blessed to share in your journeys and our life stories. I could never have done it without you and without our wonderful teachers. As you know\, LDY has an incredible and dedicated staff who have always brought their best to their classes and provided a safe place to land. And though I can’t speak for others\, I have talked with all of them\, and their commitment to teaching remains as strong as ever. \nAs we prepare to say goodbye to Laughing Dog\, I want to share about a new beginning which brings me to my earlier comment – when one door closes\, another opens. Many of you know Marissa Farrell. She was the first teacher at LDY\, 23 years ago\, and has been a driving force in our success and longevity ever since. Her dedication\, commitment\, masterful teaching and support behind the scenes has been beyond measure\, so when she came to me with a new vision and possibility\, I listened and took it to heart. In fact\, I was all in. Given that we were no longer able to stay at 151-159 Linden St\, I knew the time was right to close and support the opening of a new venture in Wellesley instead of trying to find a new location for Laughing Dog. \nMany of you may know Stepping Stone Acupuncture and Wellness\, a locally loved business\, located at 316 Washington St. Wellesley – across the street from the Unitarian Church. They are expanding and opening Stepping Stone Studios for Yoga\, Fitness and Being Well. The opening date is the 1st week in October\, with Marissa as Director. Under her thoughtful and inspiring leadership\, this will be a welcoming space for everyone\, with a full schedule of great yoga\, fitness\, functional flow\, meditation and other movement classes. I am also happy to share that many of the teachers you know and love at LDY will be teaching there\, including me. Along with familiar teachers and classes\, there will be new offerings\, new teachers and a variety of innovative programs. Marissa has exciting plans and is creating a beautiful\, new\, unique home for students and teachers seeking a vital community that prioritizes and explores what is means to Be Well. \nFor Stepping Stone Studios details go to: https://www.steppingstonewellesley.com/studios \nAlso\, join the Studios email list by filling out this form: https://forms.gle/4nRW3C9FpXn7kNyt8 \nThough we are near the end\, we are not at the end. We are still open through September so please come to class. We would love to see you. If you have 5\, 10 or Monthly class cards they are valid thru 9/30/25 so use them up before then since we will not be giving refunds for unused classes. \nFinally on a more personal note\, though I will no longer own a studio\, I am thrilled to continue teaching and hope you will join me and other LDY teachers at Stepping Stone Studios. I will also be focusing on my work as a Death Doula and Grief Educator\, supporting individuals and families through one of life’s most profound transitions and providing a space for all of us to open up conversations about death as a part of life. It is a path that calls to me and I am grateful to be able to explore it more fully. Stay tuned – details of upcoming programs coming soon. \nI speak for all the teachers in saying thank you for being a part of this incredible journey over the years. Thank you for your presence\, dedication\, kindness and trust. Thank you for showing up – in all the ways that matter – and being a part of this beautiful community and thank you for being YOU. \nCheck back to the website and your inbox for emails throughout September\, with updates\, LDY memories from students and teachers and more. \nWith all my love and appreciation\, \nJennifer and the LDYoga Team 💞 🙏

Elijah Farrell\, a Natick High School junior\, has dedicated his life to basketball since he was 10 years old. He has played all 4 seasons for at least 3 years including Natick High School\, CYO\, and Team New England AAU. Prior to that\, including during the pandemic years\, he played at least 2 seasons every year since he was 10 years old. He is as disciplined an athlete any coach could want. Before he even arrives at Natick High School each day\, he has done a 75 minute workout at the local gym starting at 5:00am\, and 12 hours later will be there again for a 2-4 hour workout and practice each night. This is 7 days a week. Some version of this workout started in the 8th grade when he would go for a run carrying a flood light to his middle school so he could put up shots in the dark! As his mom\, I calmed my nerves about this so he could stay on top of his game. He is dialed in with diet and sleep and keeps his grades on point as well. I am happy to report all this hard work has paid off. \nIn August we got a call that Elijah was nominated by a coach for a position to represent the USA overseas in a Euro Youth tournament in Spain. After vetting him for the summer\, and interviewing us as a family\, he secured his position (one of only 10 kids going from the USA in his age division) and so will be competing in June in Barcelona for PhD Hoops Basketball USA. \nI’m really excited and proud of him for achieving this as one of his long-term goals was to play overseas since he was young. We as a family are really happy to see his efforts paying off. This trip will put him in front of both national and international coaches most likely affecting Elijah’s hopes to play in college where he intends to study exercise physiology\, or something similar\, as he wants to be a coach one day. \nThanks for your support and assistance helping us making this dream come true!”

SUMMARY:Yoga & Acupuncture to Shake Off Winter - In Studio Only
DESCRIPTION:with Daniel Orlansky\, Lynda Danzig\, L.Ac. M.Ac.\, & Ilana Margalit\, L.Ac\, M.Ac \nAn afternoon to shake off winter and move in the direction of fresh possibilities\nClick Here To Register \nJust as the crocuses push through the frozen earth we too will emerge from our winter’s slumber come springtime. Join Daniel Orlansky and acupuncturists Lynda Danzig and Ilana Margalit for a two-hour Spring Equinox workshop where we will shake off winter and move the energy in the direction of fresh possibilities. In Chinese medicine\, spring is the wood element\, ruled by the liver and gallbladder meridians. By allowing the wood element to flow through us\, we acquire flexibility\, and the clarity of vision to see our true direction. \nBeginning with gentle breath work\, meridian stretching and Qigong\, students will finish in a restorative yoga position to receive an ear acupuncture treatment specifically designed to enhance the wood element\, helping us grow to our full potential by balancing our energies. \nThe ear or auricular acupuncture treatment will last about 20–25 minutes. Ear acupuncture is based on the idea that the ear is a microsystem of the entire body. This idea originates from Ancient Chinese texts\, and was developed more fully in the 1950s by Dr. Paul Nogier of France. The treatment offered at this workshop will use the points that calm the nervous system (Point Zero)\, relax the mind (Spirit Gate)\, and support emotional balance (the Auricular Liver Point). \nThis is the perfect way to spend a relaxing and nourishing Sat. afternoon. Bring family and friends. \nDaniel\, ERYT 500 is a teacher at Laughing Dog and has studied yoga and meditation for over forty years\, He has taught since 1992 in Europe and America. He is the originator of Meridian Yoga\, and certified in Kundalini Yoga (as taught by Yogi Bhajan)\, Jnana Yoga\, and Kali Ray TriYoga; also a graduate of the Boston Shiatsu School\, and an enthusiastic student and teacher of Qigong. \nLynda B. Danzig\, L.Ac.\, M.Ac.\, is a practicing massage therapist and acupuncturist. She received her massage therapy training from the Institute of Therapeutic Studies in Santa Ana\, CA\, and her master’s degree in acupuncture from the New England School of Acupuncture in 2000. Lynda provids massage therapy and acupuncture in a variety of settings including her own private practice\, Brigham and Women’s Hospital/Osher Clinical Care Center\, collaborating with allopathic and allied health partners. There have been unique opportunities as well\, such as the L.A. marathon and clinical observations in the City Hospital in Wuhan\, China and Tibet. Lynda is currently at MCR Chiropractic and Rehab in Newton Highlands\, MA. \nIlana Margalit\, L.Ac.\, M.S.\, is a licensed acupuncturist\, Chinese Herbalist and Nourishment Counselor. She obtained her Master’s of Science in Traditional Chinese Medicine from the American College of Traditional Chinese Medicine in San Francisco\, and also studied at the Zhe Zhiang College of Traditional Chinese Medicine in China. In private practice since 2004\, she treats a variety of conditions – neck pain\, back pain and anxiety are some of the most common. In addition\, Ilana works with perinatal and menopause issues. As a nourishment counselor Ilana strongly believes that food is the one medicine we take every day\, and that making wise food choices can have profoundly positive effects on our overall physical\, emotional\, and spiritual well-being. \nClick Here To Register \nTime: 3-5p \nCost: $49 – Limited to 16 students
