SUMMARY:The Art of Restorative Yoga & Yoga Nidra
DESCRIPTION:  \nwith Jennifer Harvey & Andrea Fotopoulos\n  \n\n\n\nPart of the Yoga of Energy Flow 200-Hour Teacher Training\, this online weekend immersion is open to the public. It will be presented virtually and is a chance for yoga teachers and interested students to learn practical tools to bring the art of relaxation and restoration into classes and one’s life. \n11 am – 5 pm on both Saturday and Sunday; lunch break from 1:30-2:30 pm. The entire weekend will be recorded so it you can’t make if live you can sign up\, receive the recording and take at your convenience. It will be available to download and for future reference. \nThis weekend we will explore the art\, science\, practice and teaching methodology of Restorative Yoga and Yoga Nidra. We will inquire into what it means and how is feels to make space\, slow down\, intentionally relax\, rest\, soothe the nervous system and find a sense of deep calm and inner stillness. We will also explore how to effectively integrate these practices into a yoga class and ones personal practice. \nSaturday ~ Restorative Yoga:\n• What is Restorative Yoga – History\, Theory and Practice\n• Why Restorative Yoga is so important as a part of a well-rounded yoga practice\n• The Stress Response and the Endocrine System\n• Restorative Yoga Practice – personal exploration and inquiry\n• The use and importance of props – how to use them to create optimal relaxation and rest\n• Teaching Methodology – how to design Restorative Yoga sequences and how to teach effectively\n• Practice Teaching in Dyads \nSunday ~ Yoga Nidra:\n• What is Yoga Nidra – History\, Theory and Practice\n• Why Yoga Nidra is so important as a part of a well-rounded yoga practice\n• The Koshas and Associations – 10 Stages of Yoga Nidra\n• Yoga Nidra Practice – personal exploration and inquiry\n• Teaching Methodology – how to design Yoga Nidra scripts and how to teach effectively\n• Practice Teaching in Dyads \nThroughout the weekend we will examine the student-teacher relationship and how to create a space that is accessible to every body and trauma-informed. \nFor yoga teachers\, this immersion is available for CEUs\, and will provide new materials and insights that can be brought into yoga classes. $165
